Eve of Congressional Black Caucus Event Offers Obama’s Agenda of Creative
Expression
“Melody of Art” offers music, art, poetry, food and a mixed drink called the “Operatini” on the eve of one the nation’s most exciting conventions on Capitol Hill.
(WASHINGTON, DC – September 14, 2010) Walk the Red Carpet at this year’s annual Reception & Fundraiser sponsored by the Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts (CAAPA) http:///www.4caapa.org, as they recognize the 40th Annual Legislative Conference with its and invites arts lovers and politicos, to support African American Classical Musicians, Visual Artists and Poets at a showcase entitled “Melody of Art” on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Bobby McKey’s, 172 Fleet Street, National Harbor, Maryland, 10 minutes south of Washington, DC.
Engage in recognizing the President’s agenda for appreciating the arts, role and value of creative expression by supporting the non-profit organization, which is dedicated to the cultural outreach, talent development, community programming, and audience awareness of African Americans, by attending the culturally uplifting free reception.
The free business attire evening also includes a cash bar featuring CAAPA’s signature drink, the “Operatini” which, when ordered, benefits CAAPA. This year’s event also features Dallas, Texas’ visual artist Frank Frazier and others, door prizes and honors classical music supporters Dr. J. Weldon Norris, Conductor of the Howard University Choir and Rev. Dr Delores Carpenter; General Editor of the African American Heritage Hymnal and will feature artists including soprano Angela Simpson, tenor Wayne Jennings, pianist Victor Simonson and mezzo Yolanda Bryant.
