CAAPA’s Emerging Divas Series offers a celebration of the female voice performing opera, Negro Spirituals, classical, jazz, and more.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
At least once a year CAAPA’s “Performance Series” presents a program featuring the celebration of the young female voice who may be on the cusp of an exciting and lucrative main stage opera career.
The “Emerging Diva Recitals” highlights these voices and celebrates their amazing story, artistry, and stage presence. The Emerging Diva Recitals are also an opportunity for CAAPA to pledge support in helping promote and encourage the women.
Being a classical opera singer is a challenge…Being a Black classical musician is even more challenging. It is CAAPA’s hope the performance plays a small part in advancing the emerging mezzos and sopranos into full “divadom” and help to “Bring Color to the Classics!”
