COALITION FOR AFRICAN AMERICANS IN THE PERFORMING ARTS

The CAAPA Jazz Ensemble is the musical entity of the Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts (CAAPA) performing as the elite jazz ensemble, showcasing a variety of exciting jazz music, with a focus on Black composers, and music reflecting the African diaspora. Founded in 2017, the Jazz Ensemble strives for excellence while honoring the legacy jazz music in America. Under the direction of Music Director Joshua Jenkins, to help in “Bringing Color to the Classics” the ensemble enjoys partnering and collaborating in CAAPA projects.  Additional CAAPA Ensembles include the CAAPA Chamber Ensemble and the CAAPA Chorale.
