ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Each year, as a part of CAAPA's Performance Series, the “Melody of Art Pre-Caucus Reception” takes place on the eve of one the most celebrated conventions held in the nation’s capital, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Conference.

The exciting FREE business chic reception, showcases a variety of Black Classical Musicians, Youth, Artists, and Poets as CAAPA's Season Kick-Off and to introduce CAAPA to new audiences.

Melody of Art also plays host to arts lovers, politicos, and business persons from around nation, as politicians converge on Washington, DC and help celebrate the work of several outstanding individuals in the arts community.

The event also features vendors and CAAPA's signature cocktail, the "Opera-tini" from a cash bar, lite fare, and an opportunity to network with movers and shakers. Since CAAPA's inception, this annual event has been a mainstay in the non profit's programming and has continued to this day.
